“…. I don’t regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching toward what lies ahead, I press on……..” Philippians 3:13 & 14a.
The book of Philippians in the Christian bible is probably my favorite, largely because of it’s continuing reference to running a race. As often as I’ve read the above verse, it wasn’t till today that I realized the “forgetting what lies behind” not only means forgetting bad memories, etc.; it also means not living on past successes. As Christians, we are to always be learning and growing. I love it when after reading my Bible for years, God reveals something new. That’s it from my Prayer Chair for today.
God bless.
