avoiding conflict

Proverbs 17:14

The beginning of strife is like letting out water, So abandon the quarrel before it breaks out.

I have worked diligently on this with someone for about a year. For the most part, I’ve been successful.

So many conflicts could be avoided if we just adhered to this principle.

I’m not talking about voicing our honest opinion or being milk toast about the issues we are passionate about.I’m not talking about never disagreeing with anyone. But what I think this verse is saying is when you feel yourself getting angry, walk away. Postpone the conversation for a while.

Think of all the headlines recently. Wouldn’t everyone be better off if the people involved had just backed off, even for a few seconds?

If we really practiced this with every encounter we had, the nation and the world would be a more peaceful place.

God bless and I hope you have a good day.

  1. I agree with you on that point. Be wise to whom you speak into and understand the situation.

We should not put conflicts problem into our first priority but instead finding the right solution to end them. Actually conflicts are very important too to improve people and it’s their principle, I’d rather say not conflicts but just disagreements.
