Day: April 15, 2015

I’m walkin’. Yes, indeed.

(Hope you recognize the lyrics. They’re from a Fats Domino song.)

I’m finally mobile. Only using a crutch.

Even cleaned the laundry room. Going to try and pull some weeds in the garden if I can figure out how to bend over without falling.

(Cue in TV commercial)

“Help. I’ve fallen and can’t get up.”

Seriously, it’s only been three weeks since surgery. But it feels like three months.

So much of life is like that, isn’t?

Trials come our way and we can’t see past the moment.

It’s hard to keep a positive perspective.

But life is so much easier if we learn to say, “This, too, will pass.”

For those of you who are in the middle of a trial, I’m thinking of you today.

Hang in there.

God bless and I hope you have a good day.

Everyone’s life is perfect on the internet

I found this tonight on Pinterest yesterday and it prompted some thoughts. (This is for sale on Etsy and I have notified the owner.)

It’s true, isn’t it?

I follow a number of decorating blogs and I keep trying to figure out how their homes can look so perfect all the time.

Or how they can always be so “chipper”. Sometimes it’s nauseating. It’s “too much sugar in your coffee.”

But then I take a step back and realize I probably do the same thing. Put my “best foot forward” and all that. And let’s face it, that’s a good thing.

Besides, it’s no one else’s problem but mine.

And yours. (Maybe it’s not yours. But I’ll bet you compare yourself to someone.:)

So let’s just quit comparing ourselves to people we don’t even know.

For one thing, it makes us not like them and it makes us feel bad.

So repeat after me:

God bless and I hope you have a good day.
