what other people pray for

I have a sign in my home that reads,

“Someone else is happy with less than what you have.”

I look at it often. It’s so easy to get caught up in our own lives and our own prayers. Our personal prayers are certainly worthy and valid. Scripture teaches we are to pray for anything that concerns us. We are instructed to pray for our dreams and hopes.

But sometimes it’s good remember that the things we aren’t praying for is the heart of someone else’s prayers.

what others pray for

I’m not praying for food, shelter, or clothing. But someone else is.

I’m not praying for a car. But someone else is.

I’m not praying for employment. But someone else is.

I’m not praying for a neighborhood free from violence. But someone else is.

I’m not praying for healing. But someone else is.

I’m not praying to get pregnant. But someone else is.

I’m not praying about my teen-age child who is in serious trouble. But someone else is.

I’m not praying for freedom to practice my religion. But someone else is.

And the list goes on.

God bless and I hope you have a good day.
