I was very concerned about the upcoming tests that were scheduled for my mom. I felt she is too fragile and weak right now for anything invasive. I understood the logic of the hospital staff but felt they should wait a day until she was stronger. I put in a call to her family physician.
In the meantime I went up to see my mom again in the afternoon.
The GI (gastrointestinal) doctor talked to my brother and I and told us she was hesitant to do the procedure as long as my mom’s blood pressure is so high. She wanted to know if we were okay with that.
Okay??? I was thrilled.
I’d barely had time to pray but I had shot up a prayer (I call them “arrow” prayers) earlier that day.
God heard and I believe He intervened just that quick. Remember, this is the same GI specialist who had planned the procedure in the first place. She had a change of heart. A change of heart that I believe was directly prompted by God.
I’m a very practical Christian believing that God generally works through people and normal paths to accomplish his purposes. But I also believe he still performs in mysterious ways and in direct answer to prayers. I believe this was one of the latter.
I couldn’t explain it if I tried. I just know in the deepest part of my being that it is true.
God bless and I hope you have a good day.
