Why we don’t always have to ask God about every decision.

Want to share exclusively from Oswald Chambers today.

img_7509“At critical moments it is necessary to ask guidance, but it ought to be unnecessary to be always saying–“O, Lord, direct me here, and there.” Of course he will! If our common sense decisions are not his order, he will press through them and check; then we must be quiet and wait for his direction.”

This is one of my favorite days of My Utmost for his Highest, my daily devotional for years now.

I firmly believe that if we are regular in our Bible study and prayer, if we think about what we read, if we know God’s already-revealed will for all people, the rest falls into place. When it doesn’t and we’ve learned to discern our Father’s voice, the detour will be easily recognized.

We are planning a bedroom addition  to Teeny Tiny Red Cabin. Then it will just be Tiny red cabin.😏

We are praying about this decision because it’s a big one but while we are praying we are doing our homework and thinking.

Will this increase the value? Can we afford it? Seeing as we will be doing the “finish” work, are we up to it and do want to do the hard work this will entail?

God’s revealed will for us is that we be wise with how we use the resources God has provided us. We already know that because that’s one of those”general” principles that apply to all Christians.

But did we agonize over calling a contractor and getting an estimate?

Now we wait for the final cost estimate. Then we will have another piece of the puzzle. We trust God will guide us during this whole process.

And while I’m getting ready to pray now, I don’t have to ask about every little thing I do today. God’s word has already made most of that clear.

Hope this helps your decision-making process.

God bless and have a good day.
