Well, this past weekend was a good one again. Went to a huge sale held in a bid warehouse. It was the local women’s division of the Chamber of Commerce.
These are two white sweatshirts. I’ve been looking for white sweatshirts all this summer because I have some workout clothes, that are needing white sweatshirts. The red aprons are going to be altered for Christmas presents. The black pants are amazing. They don’t look like they’ve ever been worn. They are by J. Jill so they are very good quality. Total dollar amount for these items: $4.o0.
Then there is this great lampshade. What makes it so great is that I have another one just like it. I have two floor lamps at the cabin that my daughter was getting rid of so I took them. But the shades are in sad shape. So guess what’s going on them. Yep. These two lampshades. This was $2.80.
(This orange chest is one of my favorite furniture “upcycles”. You can find it here.)
Did you see those metal containers in the background? I have no clue what they were used for but I love anything metal and/or tin. I think I’ll serve ice-cream in them. Or maybe giant cupcakes. What do you think? Hey, I know.
Tomorrow night marks the beginning of DWTS. (Dancing With The Stars, in case there is someone who doesn’t know what DWTS stands for.) My friend and I started having dinner together on Monday nights and work on Christmas gifts while watching the show. I’m cooking this time and am fixing Chicken A La King. Might be kind of interesting served in these metal bowls, $.75 for all four.
By the way, I’m really thrilled by these bowls because they have numbers on the bottom. And I learned a long time ago that anything that has numbers on it is valuable.
Finally, these placemats. $1.00 for six.
Be sure to check out all my posts this week. Because one day this week, I will be showing off a little.
First, let me back up a little. Last week I told you about the parasite that was discovered in my gut last week. I had a follow-up visit with my doctor. I asked him if I could have had this parasite all summer and he said absolutely, I could. Well, that explained a lot. I felt pretty rotten all summer but assumed it was my IBS acting up because of the previous year and all the stress I experienced caring for my mom and her subsequent death. He had prescribed a medicine to clear it up. So I started feeling a lot better.
I finally felt like painting and you all know how much I love spray painting.
So, I decided it was time to try something new. I distress most items I paint but have never experimented “chippy” look. So I gave it a shot. I love, love, love, how it turned out. You may, or may not. But be sure to check it out anyway. Usually, this particular technique is done with a brush and paint from a can. I was in a hurry and used spray paint and it worked like a charm.
Let me know what you think when you see it.
God bless and have a great day.
oops. One final thing. I accidentally downloaded this recipe so I thought, hey, why not share it with you today. It is kind of a “find” because it was from an old cookbook I bought a few weeks ago. I hate, hate, hate, store bought frosting so I cut this out and plan on using it in the future.
