More DIY. Cheap and Easy. And Cute!

(Before I get to the point of this post, I just saw the “cottage” that the “royals” Meghan and  Harry will be moving to.  All I can say is, “Really”? I’ll bet would hold close to ten average homes. Check it out.)

Anyway, I made this last week from a recycled Dollar Tree purchase.. It measures about 5″ X 5″. DIY/Dollar Tree Craft

Here’s the process. I didn’t take pictures. Of course.

I’m not telling you what the frame is until the end because you are going to be surprised.

  1. Paint the box whatever color you want. You could spray them but I didn’t want a solid color. I just applied it very haphazardly.

2. The bottom two are snowflakes from Dollar Tree. There are multiples in each package.

The top one is from a package from Hobby Lobby. (I layered silver, white, silver.)

3. I layered them with hot glue.

4. I gave it a shot of spray snow.  Cute, huh?

I added a little snow along the bottom.

Now, aren’t you curious about what was the base for this project? Here it is. I got this at Dollar Tree. I didn’t like it but I immediately saw the possibilities. And it’s still usable if I ever want to use it the other way.

It does have a jute hanger which I took off because If I decide to hang it, I would have to rearrange it or it wouldn’t hang right.

Who would’be thunk it?

Now, where to put it. Here’s the first place. This is the upstairs bathroom. I also added Washi tape around the edges.

Here’s where it is now. No telling where it will end up. But one decorating tip: Always put small things in small places.

I should warn you, though, that these are hard to find now. But I found an alternative which I will show you later. There are box-type pictures in the picture section (obviously) of Dollar Tree. There is an odd thing at the bottom of the side you would be using but it can be removed easily. They are about two inches bigger so I have another idea for them.

I can’t but think of God when I do something creative. Can’t you just image how much fun it must have been to create a whole world? I mean, really. Think about it. Animals, flowers, trees, stones, mountains, water, sun, sunset……Oh, I can’t wait to find out He did it. I sure hope He saved a video for HIs guests!!!!

God bless and keep DIYing today.
