What you can do with a $1.00 Dollar Tree bag.

I’m like eight hours behind schedule today. Isn’t everyone? I mean it is that season?

I hope you are all doing well. Right now, I’m feeling a little overwhelmed but I know many of you are as well.

However, I made a vow to myself that nothing would get in the way of my time with God. And it hasn’t. All the rest will fall into place if I put God first.

I’ve been a crafting wizard these past few weeks. I put up all the Christmas decorations that I haven’t used yet. I’m so done with the decorating. I hope I can get pictures out to all of you. But I know they won’t do my home justice because I don’t have a high-end camera. I keep reminding myself that’s not what this blog is all about anyway. But sometimes I get so close to buying that camera so I can shoot beautiful pictures.

All in good time.

Anyway, this is just a quick project I put together last week.

The steps:

  1. Cut out a picture from a Christmas bag.

2. Glue it on something.

3.Trim it in Washi tape.

A small disclaimer. I did not make this pallet board for this particular project. I made it during the summer and then couldn’t decide on a project. But you could also do this on a canvas and it would work just as well.

I used a paste called, “Yes”.

This is great paste. Expensive but last a long, long time. You can add a little water if it gets a little dry because you didn’t put the lid on tight. Just sayin’. I smeared the back of the picture with the paste. I used my hands but, of course, you could use a brush as well.

You can see that the pallet boards are uneven but I didn’t worry about it. The Washi tape doesn’t adhere closely in some parts but you can’t actually see it except in these close-ups. I did end up gluing the edges down as good as I could but that is not reflected in these pictures.

The sun was coming in the windows and I just had to take pictures.

One of the quickest and easiest things I’ve done this year.

Remember,  you could use a canvas. I think you could even attach it directly to your wall with Washi tape. I’ve “bordered” printables on the wall this way and had no problem taking it off with no damage.

For smaller bags, you could frame them. Done that, too. There are some cool bronze frames at Dollar Tree right now that I particularly like. I printed some “printables” and framed them. I took them to my daughter’s for Thanksgiving. She loved them. The possibilities abound.

This brick wall is in my kitchen. It’s the backside of the fireplace. We never drywalled over it and don’t ever intend to. I’m thinking I might sand areas after Christmas to reveal the original brick.

Anyway, I’ve just been to Dollar Tree and there are all kinds of different sized bags where you could cut out the picture and do something creative.

That’s it for today. God bless and have a good evening.
