So have you decided what your word-of-the-year is?

I shared a few weeks back that I’ve been trying to decide what my word for the year is going to be.

I’ve decided!

Edit.

So here’s why.

I need to be more deliberate with my actions. I want to make sure I’m spending my days doing the things I love, with the people I love and most importantly for the God I love.  And it seems like the word “edit” is perfect for that.

I only know one way to do this and that’s editing my actions. The two tools, outside of prayer and Bible study, that I will be using are a Bullet Journal, and a book I’m reading called “Atomic Habits”. (Fans of Bullet journaling refer to it as BuJo.)

I have mentioned them both in these posts.

I’m doing very well with certain habits I want to incorporate. And I think I’ve just about figured out the how to “bullet” journal.

I hope to share some of them with you over the next few weeks.

We’ve had contractors working in our basement for about ten days now and we have a mess. Thank goodness it’s confined to the basement. They will finish tomorrow and then we have the job of cleaning up drywall mudding “dust” and getting ready to do our part, the caulking, the painting, the flooring, etc.

One of the reasons we are doing this is because of the “editing” process. This is an old house and we have nowhere to really pursue our interests and hobbies. It looks like we will be staying in this house a little longer so we’ve decided we’re making it suited to us and our interests. We’re not spending a lot but I think it’s going to work great for us.

I’m editing more than spaces, clothes, etc. I’m, also editing my thoughts, my devotions, words, interests. I started writing this post last week and I can tell you I’m really doing good.

I’ve made minor changes that have helped me make bigger ones. I can’t wait to see where this goes.

I love the word I picked. It really works for me.

God bless and I hope you have a good day.

  1. My word for this year is ‘routine’ . I’d never realised how much I needed a routine until I set myself a strict one! I work from home for myself as an artist & it’s so easy to get sidetracked when you don’t have anyone to answer to, I would daydream & be chaotic & get nowhere near enough done. I still allow myself to daydream for a while but not all day! I start my day early, heat my studio while I walk my dog & get straight down to working when I get back. I lunch at a set time & go on my phone or computer for limited set times. When I do my yoga I focus on the word routine & I’m getting stuff done & a lot happier for it 🙂
