Do you remember what I promised? Here it is!

Way back before Christmas, I promised I would show you what the main gift was that I made for my daughter and my friends.

Well, we finally got around to celebrating her birthday last week and I was able to give them to her and she was thrilled. She follows this blog so I had to wait so as not to ruin the surprise for her.

Anyway, here’s what I made. Will explain the process in a minute and why it was such a blessing to me.

Here’s how I made them. I cut the cardstock to 2 1/2″ by 3 1/2″. The cardstock was cut to 2 1/4″ by 3 1/4″. I use a glue stick to glue on the paper to the cardstock.

I put them in order so I could double-check for duplication as I was making numerous sets. Then after I had them in order, I took them out of order. There was a reason. The largest number came from Psalms and Proverbs and I didn’t want them all clumped together.

The verses I used were selected during my devotional time. It took me about three months before I had enough.

I LOVED making them and am making more sets for some other people.

I made them for Christmas presents six months worth for my daughter, four months for two of my friends, one month for some people at church. That equals 1558 cards plus a few extra cards for months that have more days.

But here’s the great thing. I learned so much. I almost have the Old Testament books memorized. And in the process, my faith journey was made so much stronger because the more I glued them, the more I saw something different in each verse. It was quite the experience.

It’s fun picking out the papers and planning the color themes.

For some, I used cardboard backing. I found them at Hobby Lobby in the scrapbook paper section.

You should try these sometimes.

God bless and have a good day.
