These first pumpkins are made with a fuzzy fabric. It’s fun to play around with different fabrics and materials, like yarn, beads, rhinestones, etc.
The orange and black pumpkin above is made by covering a styrofoam pumpkin from Dollar Tree. I used a scarf from the Dollar Tree as well. Here is the tutorial.
There are so many ways to DIY pumpkins. Next, you decorate them and almost all of the embellishments can be found at Dollar Tree. The “stem” you see below are wood pieces that I found at Hobby Lobby. The shredded paper, also at Dollar Tree, is great for the tendrils. Of course, there are all kinds of nature pieces you can use as well.
The DIY pumpkins above are made from circular pieces of fabric. The tutorial is here and here. I generally use driftwood or twigs for the stems. Use your imagination. Experiment with various fabrics. I have some gold-flecked burlap I might try. Lace could be interesting.
God bless and go make some pumpkins!
