a ridiculous statement

Every one in a while I post one of those ridiculous statements floating around on-line that I disagree with. Today is one of those times.regrets

Number one, no one can choose anything for us. We all, whether our idea or not, end up choosing to do what we want to do, choosing to live the way we want. No one makes our life what it is but us.

AND

while it is also true that our mistakes and regrets are ours, they are not only ours. Let me point out the many exceptions that keep this statement from being true.

If you look at each example, you will see that “mistakes” DOin fact, affect others, sometimes tragically. This list could go on ad infinitum.

  • alcoholism
  • drug addiction
  • drunk driving
  • divorce
  • text-driving
  • adultery
  • abortion
  • crime
  • lying

Actually, if we follow this line of thinking……

I don’t think I need go any further. You get the idea.

We do NOT live in a vacuum. The choices we mistake always, always, always, affect someone else in some way.

And as for the regrets-that’s true, as well it should be. But regrets are cheap just like a hastily uttered “I’m sorry.”

Signing off.

God bless and I hope you have a good day.
