What are you so busy doing and does it matter?

…..so I saw this quote and really liked it. I thought, “Hey, I’ll post this today.”

But then I got to thinking, “What do I really know about ants?”

ANTS

Then I read the quote again and thought Thoreau might have not done the common ant justice. In fact he sounds a little condescending, doesn’t he?

Actually, all of the insect kingdom has a purpose for their busyness, unlike the human race. They do what they do for survival. We do it because we’ve filled our life with too much that doesn’t matter.

We have an over abudance of “stuff” so we have to spend inordinate amounts of time organizing it and storing it.

Hmm, think that would be a very good post.

You can read about ants here.

Hey, maybe this is a idea for this next year.

I’m wanting to expand my knowledge this year in various areas. Maybe a post once a week about an animal, insect, bird, reptile. We’d both learn. 🙂

So here’s the quote and it does cause us to think even if it is mean to ants.

“It is not enough to be busy; so are the ants. The question is: What are we busy about?”
