Becoming wise is what Jesus commands

Becoming wise is what Jesus commands.

I include a chapter from Proverbs every day in my Bible reading. Which means I get through the book once a month. That should make me really wise, right?

Not so much. At least not all the time.

Like most people I have my “wise” days and my “not so wise days”. So today in my reading of Matthew 11:19, the last sentence, “But wisdom is proved right by her actions”, reminded me that there is a yardstick to measure wisdom.

It is by our actions.

So if you’re wondering if you are making smart decisions, just look at your actions. They will prove whether your decisions were wise or not.

Too many of us don’t think through the consequences of our decisions and the results down the road can be disastrous.

We will know the results of other people’s decisions the same way. It will become apparent by the end results.

This is another way of saying that it’s our actions, not our words, that prove us wise or not.

God bless and add to your knowledge today.
