A great day to bake our famous Anzac cookies

So, today is the day we start our marathon cookie baking for our famous (wink, wink), Azac cookies.

I’ll tell you the backstory and give you the recipe in total later this wee..

But here’s how we’re looking today.

First, of all there’s the matching sweaters my husband bought for us when they were a “thing” in high school. We can still wear them. We’re kind of proud of that.

We wear them every year for cookie baking.

I buy a new plastic tablecloth the year before.

Here’s the ingredients.

It’s been snowing for two days here in Michigan so my husband said yesterday, “Today’s the day”.

Now, I wish I could say we would be done in one day but alas, it will take many such sessions like this.

We give away lots of them every year. I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t like them. They are a crunchy cookie and will literally last for months and months. They are great “dippers”.

Tomorrow, I’ll tell you why.

God bless and have a wonderful day.

In case you’re wondering why we’re starting these cookies so early, it’s because we make about twenty batches. And that’s about four dozen a batch. That’s a lot of cookies but as I said, we give away so many of them.

And, of course, we have to have some for us.
