I’m finally getting my gardens cleaned up after our major storm a week ago.
Thought you might be interested in some pictures. This is the first year in four years I’ve been able to “seriously” do some hard work, due to foot and back issues. If you are new to my blog and want to know what I’m talking about, you can read about it here and here.
So I’ve enjoyed flopping in bed exhausted after hours of digging in the dirt. So here’ some pictures. I wish they were better but a photographer I’m not.
These first pictures are of my oldest garden. It is truly secluded. The large grasses on the right keep it really private. The patio is brick. The umbrella got ruined in the storm but I haven’t replaced it yet.
This garden is at the end of our driveway in a corner. It has seen many variations over the years. Because of the neighbors trees, I’ve had to adapt it often but I think I like it best now. Plus, our deer population is crazy around her and a few weeks ago we had a fawn living here so needless to say, I’ve had to eliminate growing roses, and many other flowers.
This garden means a lot to me. I’ve cried many tears in this garden, when my children moved away, when my husband had his heart attack, when depression was looming. I’ve also praised God in this garden for the overwhelmingly good things in my life.
I find gardening and life very much the same.
The pathway leading here is new this year. My husband put down edging so I would have separated spaces so I could design each area easier. These are “rubber” tiles. I’ve just killed off the weeds springing up but they hadn’t “died” yet when I took this picture.
This is another area in my garden. There are four areas now. I’m still working on a theme for each area.
I have a very large yard so there are more gardens I will show you tomorrow.
