Like a dog with a bone.

I can be very persistent, like a dog with a bone. This has been a research-heavy week, but I have doggedly kept at it. I’m finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

I’m trying to learn about a dozen things at once. From Book Funnel, Tailwind, Mailerlite to a few mother apps I need to learn.

But I have been like a dog with a bone. I am determined to get all the detail and yucky stuff out of the way so I can write non-stop. I hate the fact that there is so much behind-the-scenes stuff with writing a book. But it’s all important.

Need the same persistence about our faith walk

It’s kind of like our faith walk. Without all the Bible study and prayer, our faith walk just limps along. Only in this case, I love the research part. And I really love how it all comes together.

I mean my quiet time in the morning just seems to synchronize the rest of my day. It’s like as long as I have time with Him in the morning, I find I can keep my frustration at bay. Otherwise, I would never even consider this next book.

When I wrote the first one, I can’t tell you the frustration and discouragement I felt. Not with the writing but all the technical stuff I had to learn. I just wanted to write!

I’m approaching this next book so differently. Now, I will not skip my time with God no matter how far behind I feel I am. I learned last year that God has to absolutely be first. My time with Him in the morning is the offering of my first fruits, the best part of my day. Honestly, I don’t know how anyone can get through their day without this precious time in the morning.

We’re in this together

This post today is to encourage you that if you are facing a big task and feel overwhelmed; I hear you. I have to watch getting overwhelmed, too. It’s a big trigger for me for anxiety. Is it for you?

Then let’s be in this together knowing that trials produces perseverance and mature our faith. You are not alone. We can do this. You can do this. Let’s remember James 1:3 & 4:

“….the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete….”

I’m praying for you and I hope you have a good day. Take some time this weekend to chill-out. I’m telling myself the same thing.

God bless you.
