Wait till you see my adorable settee

We were at the cabin last week. The pictures you see below are the wicker settee I bought a few years ago a Goodwill. Three pieces of high quality wicker for sixty dollars. Not bad, huh? It’s been sitting in our shed for years. The matching chairs are inside the bunkhouse.

I tried to give it away but no one had a spot for it.  My very smart husband said at the beginning of this summer, “Hey, I think it would fit on the porch bunkhouse.”

Because I am always right, I said, “No way it will fit. But take it up there anyway and if it doesn’t fit we’ll donate it to the mission store.”

Well, as you can see I was w-r-o-o-o-o-o-o-n-g.

But because it’s an antique it sits too low so if you look at the bottom you can see what my husband did. He used 4 X 4’s and drilled in holes for the legs to fit in snugly. Kinda’ like bed risers.

They are perfect.

While I was at the cabin this week, I used what material I had and quickly sewed (actually, they’re pinned) up some covers.

This is my new favorite place in the world. It’s where God and I meet when I’m up north. It’s where I read E.M. Bounds, Dallas Willard, Charles Spurgeon, and others just to make my mind hurt.

It’s where I just sit and think or take a nap.

We cleaned out one of the storage units and I found these lanterns I forgot I had bought at a garage sale years ago. It’s good to clean. 🙂

So now when I say I’m at the cabin, you can picture me sitting here, thinking of all of you and trying my best to write words I think will help lift someone’s spirits.

God bless and I hope you have a good day.
