When it’s good to be exhausted because you’re doing what you love

Yesterday was a good day for me, but you may question why I feel that way.

After four years of limping, surgeries, and injections, I was able to really “garden”.

By that I mean I was able to shovel with a real shovel so I could dig up some old lavender plants. I was able to transplant some flowers.

There is a HUGE greenhouse about an hour away and my hubby and I went there Monday. When I say, huge, I mean h-u-g-e.

I haven’t been there for a few years as obvious from the second sentence above, so this was quite a treat. It’s not that I can’t find these flowers elsewhere but it’s just the experience of being surrounded by such color and beauty. “My God, How Great Thou Art.”

I mean they even have a concession stand. (I almost wrote “confession” stand, but after you’ve spent too much money, maybe that’s what you need to be doing, confessing. 🙂  )

I mean it’s so big, you need a map!

The “thingee” that he’s holding is a device used to reach up and grasp the hook on the hanging flowers. They are at the end of each aisle.

I mean, flowers as far as the eye can see.

And more flowers.

And even more. Be still my heart.

Best of all, I came in last night exhausted. Thoroughly exhausted.

For me that was a really good thing.

It felt so good to work in my gardens and to feel unrestricted.

Oh, it wasn’t easy. There were times I wondered but I kept digging away. I love gardening.

The best part?

I’m not even sore today. Well, just a little, I guess. But one Tylenol took care of that.

Watched the election returns with my hubby in the evening and wondered how our nation ever got to this place.

(I’m trying to decide if I should post about my political views. But, you know what, that may be the problem with politics. Too many people expressing too many views and getting mad if people don’t agree.

Besides, I still believe in democracy and I consider my voting privileges one of the greatest rights of living in America.)

Anyway, if being exhausted is a good thing, I like being exhausted.

God bless and I hope you have a good day.
