When God gives you what you really need.
You know how life just kind of plods along and you start to question if you’re on the right track or not? I mean it can be about anything.
Diet.
Exercise
Jobs
Relationships
Spirituality
Blogging
Well, this last one, blogging, used to really get to me. I would get so discouraged especially when I saw the photos on other blogs, their number of followers, their popularity. I feel like I was back in high school envying the popular girls.
Know what I mean?
It seemed some days I should’ve just quit. I would wonder, am I helping anybody at all? Or was I writing posts that just went pouf and sailed away into the abyss of Google land?
And then, there came that day. That day you think would never happen. The day you look at your email and there they are, a multitude of “follows”. I mean I couldn’t believe my eyes. And I had no idea what post prompted it.
I felt like baking myself a celebratory cake with lots and lots of candles.
I often say to God, “How do you do that”? meaning how did God know I needed what I needed before I knew I needed it. Did you follow that?
Well, obviously because He is God. God always knows what we need before we do. It might not feel that way. It might not even be a good thing? It might be a trial we need. Never a fun thing.
I’m just like everybody else. I know God knows what is best for me but I still want to maintain some control. I still want Him to check with me first. Like He could make a better decision if He asked my opinion.
I don’t think I’m alone, either. I think we all probably think that God needs our advice on occasion.
Thank goodness, for the most part, I’m willing to back off and let God be God.
